Program Overview

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is an advanced robotics platform where students build and program real robots with motors and sensors. Students learn complex engineering concepts such as precise movement, sensor integration, and problem-solving through iterative design. This prepares students for robotics competitions like FLL and FTC.

How the curriculum progresses
  • Level 1 (The Brick Journey): Understand the EV3 Brick, build a first robot, and use block-based programming to control motion.
  • Level 2 (Brick Sensors): Use infrared, touch, and light/color sensors to navigate environments and detect objects.
  • Level 3 (Brick Applications): Apply variables, gyro sensors, and advanced logic to design robotic mechanisms like claws.
  • Level 4 (SPIKE Prime): Build and program SPIKE Prime robots that sense distance, detect colors, and perform real-world tasks.
